Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She was a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is a writer and philanthropist as well as a television host as well as the proprietor of the independently free online news publication The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece she moved to England at the age of 16 and was able to graduate from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The first graduate from outside the UK to be elected president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. Following graduation, she left her name as columnist in the conservative syndicated media and, with the launching of The Huffington Post' few years later she created a voice-based website that gave critical opinions on the political scenario. The celebrity she enjoyed helped her to convince several famous people to share their opinions on current events, culture and politics. Arianna was first noticed in 2003 as she stood for California's recall election, replacing then Governor Davis. In addition to this she was the leader of the Detroit Project to develop fuel efficient cars. In 2009 she was recognized by Forbes as the most influential female media personality, taking the 12th position on their list. The same year, the Guardian listed her on the top 100 of media lists. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her the president of their media company and also included several additional AOL brands like Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli was the daughter of Konstantinos who was a journalist and management consultant. Although she had a close connection to both of her parents and father, it was their relationship which shaped her. Even during her formative times, she demonstrated the qualities of a leader for which are still prominently known. At 16 years of age she moved to the United Kingdom to pursue her education and was enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. She joined the Cambridge Union college debate society while in college and was the first woman to hold the position of the president. In 1972, she earned an advanced degree in Economics. In the years following her degree, she was a columnist-critic and a host on TV. In addition, she appeared together with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started creating books with the editorial services of Bernard Levin.
