Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to 12 hungry children who would grow up in the same household, figured out very early how to get out of difficulties with her incredibly vivid imagination. Before she learned to write and read, Dolly Parton was creating her own songs. In the year she turned 8years old, she purchased her first electric guitar and started singing at the Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. The first album she recorded was within the same calendar year with Gold Band Records, a tiny independent label. While she was studying, she already established herself within the local arena. Her goal was to be able to make music on a greater level. The year 1964 was the day after her high school graduation the singer moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first album to be charted on Monument Records. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated TV show host at the time, was in search for a female singer for his program. Parton joined Grand Ole Opry 1969 after having signed with RCA Records. She quit Wagoner's act in 1974, when her solo songs like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene beat out the collaborations. Parton composed "I Will Always Love You" in support of Wagoner soon after their split. The track hit the top spot at No. In 1974, Parton's song I Will Always Love You climbed to No.
