Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the United States and is a writer from Greece, a syndicated columnist and a businesswoman. She's written 15 books, and she is co-founder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is an author, television personality, philanthropist as well as the owner and editor of The Huffington Post. When she moved into England from Greece at 16, she received a MA in Economics at Cambridge University. The well-known debating club The Cambridge Union was her first time as president, and she held it before the age of 21. Then she became an author for a conservative newspaper after her graduation. When The Huffington Post launched a couple of years after, she created an online platform for voice with a critique of current the political landscape. The fame she gained allowed her to persuade a number of famous people to share their opinions regarding current affairs, the culture and politics. Arianna's popularity was first noticed in 2003 when she was a candidate for an independent in the California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. In addition, she directed a Detroit project that promoted fuel efficient cars. She was named one of the Most Popular Women in Media in 2009 by Forbes in 2009, and was awarded the 12th spot on that list. That same year Guardian named her on the top 100 media list. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post in 2011 and named her head of its media division that also includes other AOL brands like Engadget AOL Music Style list and Patch Media. She was born to a journalist and management consultant Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. Though she was close to her father it was the relationship she shared with her mother that shaped her life. She showed leadership traits from the beginning. When she was 16 years old her family moved in her home in United Kingdom for her higher education. At Girton College Cambridge. In the time of her studies she was a member of the Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first woman and the sole foreign president. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of Master in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a columnist critic, and a television host. In addition, along with Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
