Lucy Liu was born in the United States. Lucy Liu, a native of America is an American singer, actress and voice-over artist. Being a smart and beautiful actress, she serves as a role model for several Asian actors in Hollywood who want to succeed. Following a string of appearances on popular television series, she became famous when she was cast on the Ally McBeal legal comedy where she played Ling Woo. Following her fame, she got important part on the shows Shanghai Noon (1998) and Charlie's Angels (2000). Then, she gave an an excellent performance in Quentin Tarantino Kill Bill Volume 1 as Japanese crime-lord O Ren Ishii. At the same time, she also starred in box office failures, including Rise: Blood Hunter. In the following years, she started to voice prominent characters in animated films, such including Kung Fu Panda and Tinker Bell. Small screen roles such as Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia failed to produce results. The role she played in the critically-acclaimed police drama Southland has helped her regain recognition as an actress of note. Liu chooses her roles with care to avoid becoming typecast in such a competitive field. Though she's proud of her heritage but she doesn't let it limit her imagination.
